Cherokee XJ Sport Window Regulators?
 

Hey everyone, I have a Jeep Cherokee XJ 2 door Sport and my driver window regulator is broken. Apparently these parts have been erased from existence and our texts only describe what it must have been like when these things actually existed. I cannot find one anywhere! I found a company that claims they can rebuild my part and they have good reviews. Has anyone heard of Power Window Repair? They want $349 for the service, but I don't know if that is too much. What year is your XJ?

Are you certain it's a mechanical fault and not an electrical fault?

Have you tried any scrap yards? A lot of obscure to buy parts are there waiting for someone to save them from being crushed.

It's a 2000. I've called a ton of scrap yards. I know it's the regulator for sure. I already have removed the part and had it inspected.

Maybe you might try finding a complete door to get what you need...

Is there a difference between the 2 and 4 door regulators? Rockauto is where I bought mine from.

Other than that I would have thought $349 sounds a lot but I have no experience to accurately say.

As far as I know, the actual motor is the same with 2 and 4 doors. But the mechanism is completely different. The 2 doors have 2 lift tracks because the glass is so much bigger. The "cable" still does the same thing but it loops around from one glass support to the other so they both go up and down at the same time.

Last year I had found ones for 250 brand new but searching today I couldnt find any other than ebay and that site you listed. I thought 250 wasnt bad considering how rare they are and because it was the entire unit motor tracks and cable everything was ready to drop in

Thank you. It looks like the part numbers you provided pull up sneakers on ebay lol. I have not had any luck finding replacement parts for my window mechanism as of yet. Anyone out there know where I can find these?

Just the part # isnt specific enough. Type "Mopar" into the search box and then the part #, with no spaces. You will get Jeep parts, but that doesnt always give you what you want. Try '2000 cherokee window regulator', or even 'cherokee 2 door regulator parts', etc.. Vary the search a bit. Also, try the advance search for sellers. Two i have used are macsusedcars0 and deadjeeps. They might have, or can find what you need as they do part outs. I have seen them list 2 door parts, but very rarely do they pop up. Most of what i see is 4 door, which is what mine is.

Half the time when I need to look up part numbers I remove the space and put Jeep in the search too.

I'd see if you can get a picture of it before ordering just to be sure. I'm getting a lot of conflicting info looking up that number from various sites that are out of stock but I'm pretty sure it should be right. Interesting find. If those are both power window setups I would order one of each. As long as it's the entire unit. Without a picture its hard to tell

It's quite a bit of money to be uncertain. A pic would certainly be nice or even a description from the company.
