Default cherokee won't move..

so my jeep tranny started slipping so i went to pull a part and picked up a used one i brought it home put it in i test drove it and everything was good shifted great so i drove it home and i got up the next morning went to leave and nothing it wont engage in drive reverse 1st nothing and there's no leaks im confused and dont know whats wrong with it. it's a 96 cherokee automatic it has the 30 43LE any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

If it wont move at all, it could be the filter or filter to pump line clogged. At a minimum, drop the pan, remove the filter and fush it out (or replace) to see if this helps.

My step son ran his 2000 3 quarts low and gummed up the system so bad that it took 3 fluid and filter cleanings/swaps to get it to run for more than 20 minutes. It did the same thing after the first cleaning. Once it cooled, all the junk settled and was sucked into the filter when he started it the next morning.

You sure its the transmission and Not the TCU causing the issue?

unplug the tcu and see if you can shift it manually

ok notop46 the fluid and filter are brand new do you still think it counld get clogged up? also when you first start it and put it in drive it will move a few inchs then stop and wont move again.

i tryed unpluging the tcu and still nothing..

Default 1998 Cherokee only moves when put in L1 & dash is out`

When I put in Drive will not move & dash is out,. When I put it in L1 I can then move & shift manually. Eventually the dash starts working but the speedo does work & then stop. Once I am driving it for a bit I can put in Drive but it seems like it is starting in maybe like 3rd gear but the sounds of it.
