Hi im new to this cherokee forum so i would like to introduce myself first my name is Ben and im from Ontario, Canada. Ive had my Jeep XJ almost a year now and im looking for a V8 swap not a stroker kit or supercharger for the 4.0l i want a V8 swap and im trying to get some info on the 5.2l from a 97 GC ZJ and was wondering if i could use the engine tranny and transfer case out of that to put in my 98 XJ if anybody culd help me it would be greatly apreciated

The swap will go much easier if you use the engine, tranny, and transfer case from the donor rig. Get the harness, PCM, TCU, and gauges if at all possible.

Take pictures! Count on the rig being down for quite a while as you'll have to custom fabricate every mount from the tranny to the motor for it.

I have contacted them about doin a plug-n-play harness for the cherokee since they do em for the wranglers he sai if i would pay for the cherokee fsm he'd be more than glad to do it, still havent heard back about the pricing prob run the same as the wrangler units
