I have a 1997 CHEROKEE 4.0 AUTOMATIC DOES NOT SEEM TO GO INTO OVERDRIVE WHAT SOULD I BE LOOKING FOR OIL IS FULL

 

Got a check engine light?

Get it up to 50-60mph and lift the brake with your left foot, don't take your foot off the gas.

 

Could be the shift solenoid or upshift relay. Not quite sure how all that stuff works, though. I had an 89 Dodge Dakota that wouldn't go into overdrive...drove it around getting 8 miles per gallon and it revved at like 3000 + rpms doing 55 mph. I was recommended to change the shift solenoid and upshift relay to fix the problem, but I sold it instead.
