Default Cherokee Gods... please help...

My 98 cherokee has sat for a while ,I was having problems with the family car that demanded my time more than the jeep (in my wife's opinion anyway). Jeep was running fine but had a radiator leak. it sat for about 3 months. Now I have put in a new radiator, and all of a sudden my a/c wouldn't work, the electric fan wouldn't work, It will only catch 2nd and 3rd gear... no 1st or 4th..., and i'm getting 10 different check engine codes... I can provide a list if it would help, but i have to find my scanner... That's just what autozone showed... They told me to take it to the dealer, but since the cash for clunkers program they have several jeeps nicer than mine that people have traded to be destroyed (taps playing in background) and therefore are now my nemeses.

>> P1694 CCD message from JTEC failure . Does the jeep still run? this is usually a communication fault, modules not working(talking to each other) check all of your powers and grounds to your pcm. Make sure your batt connections are good as well

Battery was bad..had to jump start it a few times when I took it for a ride the other day after changing the radiator. I put a good battery in her yesterday before i drove her and started noticing these problems... the reason I never thought about the check engine light is because it was throwing one code from the day i got her. I know nothing was hooked up backwards or anything to short anything out while jump starting..... what are the most common grounds to check for problems? I can drive it around, without first or forth, Basically it's in "limp in mode".I jumped a wire to make my fan run. Just have to unplug it when I turn it off. I can jump across the relay to make the a/c compressor come on.

Check your major grounds first, battery to engine, battery to body, engine to body. Then look for anywhere there is a cluster of ground wires.

Why would I get the p1491 when I have the 4.0 I-6 then?.... My fan does not work unless I connect it strait to the battery though... same with my a/c... which also means it doesn't cycle, it freezes up... so far I have found no problems with any grounds, nothing unplugged, but I'm starting to pull my hair out... My family car bit the dust and I need to get the heep running to drive back and forth to work... today's my last day off for a couple of days...Does any one know where to find the wiring diagram for the for the ecm? Hanes manual is a pos.

Ok....I'm ready to throw my hands up!..... Apparently the way i had my fan wired up was causing some if the problems... Now I'm only getting 3 or 4 codes... still getting the p1491?!?!..... p0545.....p0443......... and p0138........I have found no loose grounds... nothing unplugged... no signs of animals eating wiring... Next step is to call a priest... I'm about to take it for a ride and see if the trans is at least shifting normal yet... If so i guess I can drive it to work for a couple of days and just pull the fan plug when I stop...Living in Louisiana I would really love to have my a/c working again... but I guess God is punishing me right now...

Update... I've checked the wiring harness for continuity and for shorts, done a computer swap, Still having this problem. I'm about ready to (gasp) get rid of my jeep. I'm willing to give it one last go over before I go to such extremes, but I have no clue where to look. I changed to comp under the hood, but is there another computer that could possibly be causing these problems? I've seen one under the drivers seat. What does that one control?

I'm challenging the Cherokee Gods to find a way to help me hang on to my Cherokee instead of loosing a Jeep fan forever.
