Default Cherokee Classic vs Cherokee Sport

Okay here's the deal, i own a 2000 classic and my father owns 2000 sport. Well he bought a R/C 4.5 lift with 32's. I bought a 3 inch R/C with 31's. I've added a inch to the front to level out the back because i put on 3 inch blocks. Well my jeep sits about 3 inchs shorter or so than my fathers. What is it? Is there a difference with a Classic and Sport? Should i even attempt to buy the 4.5 lift so i can sit as high as him? Please answer with serious answers.

4.5" lift vs 3" lift = 1.5" vehicle height difference. 32's vs 31's = .5" vehicle height difference. Add those together and you get a 2" difference in height. There's your answer.

My question is what's the difference in a classic and a sport? Because i'm only .5 a inch from him and his sits so much taller. To me it seems like the classics suspension is lower or something

The only differences were some options for the Sport were standard on the Classic.

So, just to make sure I got this straight - you put 3" blocks on the rear (already a no-no), 3" coils with 1" spacers on the front (total of 4" front, 3" rear) on 31's? That's not going to level you out. That'll make your nose sit high. Most you need to level out (if you even need to) is maybe another .5" up front. I've got a Rusty's 3" (full leaf packs, coils up front) that's 2 years old and I sit level.
He's got a 4.5" lift (rear leafs, front coils - no blocks or spacers) and 32's. That's gonna make him 1" higher in the front and 2" higher in the rear, not 3". If his lift is new, it'll take a little bit of time for it to settle to the actual 4.5".

THis is what i did. I got the R/C 3 inch add-a-leaf lift kit. Installed it without the AAL and put a 3 inch block in the rear for now. Before i lifted the jeep up it sat lower in the back than the front. But not the front sits lower than the back. I"ve added coil springs twist boosts just for now so when i get the 4.5 i can install it right. The twist gave me about a inch lift in the front and it still sits lower in the front. So right now my front sits 4 inchs and my rear should either be 3.5 since it did sage stock or it's either 4. But my fathers jeep sits about a couple inches higher.

The only height differences I know of is that a county comes stock with one inch taller coils. As for your deal I think for some odd reason the RC 4.5 coils are more then what they advertise. Brake out your tap and give her a go stock springs under normal load and used are 12". So see what the difference is between yours and your fathers. Then give RC a call if it is more of a difference then it should be. If you talk to Jason he will most likely salve your issue for free. My guess is that the different coils have different spring rating. It has nothing to do with weather its a sport or classic.

Thank you so much. I mean i had to trip a bit of my fender just to fit a 31 one and we tried putting a 32 just to see what it would look like and i couldn't even turn the wheel. But i'm still going to go with the 4.5 because 3 inchs just isn't enough for me. Thank you for answering my question.

Lots of factors here. Main reason is yours is add a leave with tired n used springs his is a new spring pack(ill bet $$) big difference. Weight like bumper, winch, subs, roof rack, spare tire éct ect can effect ride height too. Wheel width could even be playing & adding up against ya. Type of tire(tread depth) & honest size not what the company claims. Too even how wore tires are. Shocks stiffness. Different companies spring rates are probably tad different? Scrap the blocks n buy a complete spring pack or mate your own together.
