Just bought a 97 cherokee. There was a puddle in the passenger floor. It is not anti-freeze so its not the heater core. When I use the washer fluid on the windshield i can smell it coming from the heat vent. I cant see any leaks in the windshield. I removed most of the dash looking. Also no sign of water anywhere else under the dash. Where is it coming from?

 

Look in the wiper motor box (under the cowl vents. . You will have to remove the wiper blades (Entire thing arms and all) and then a couple of screws. The wiper spray lines could be leaking and then it could be making its way down to the floor.

Ok,didn't find anything there.I did find a hole in the passenger floor about the size of a 50 cent piece..could that be my problem?

Also,my wife says she smells washer fluid when I use it..is this normal or is something draining where it shouldn't be?
