It depends on why your jeep was targeted, but usually something as simple as the club will suffice as a theft deterrent. Yeah they can just cut the steering wheel with a hack saw and slide it off, but most of the time it's easier to just move on to the next car with out any theft deterrent and steal that one. I had an OLDS that some one tried to steal, luckily I had a kill switch so they didn't get it. I ended up with a busted window and steering collar, so as a deterrent I installed a quick release steering wheel. It was pretty cool to show off but not really necessary, plus it's not street legal. I never really liked alarms due to the fact that some one with a loud stereo system, Harley Davidson, or a kid that hits your car with a ball can set them off.....

go figure... what a coincidence huh..... yeah theft is bad here being so close to the Mexican border.. plus what ever punks just wanna take your car for a joy ride.... Apartment complex's are the worst man if you happen to live in one, that's where my car almost got stolen from. But yeah the irony is something as simple as the club would work in that situation, because there are so many other cars for them to choose from that have no form of theft deterrent. I actually use a generic form of the club though because name brand are so expensive, plus the club only has one prong on each end, and you can get the generic with two prongs (supposedly those are safer.) The kill switch definitely saved my ***, or my car would of been gone, the neighbors saw them cranking it but it wouldn't kick over, with liability insurance only I would have been screwed. But if I would of had that club, they probably would of just passed up my car and been on to the next.
I'd check out my panel for you but IDK if a 93 and 96 are the same, plus I ain't even home, I'm stuck working out of town.

That's what the guy at the shop told me. That he sees a lot of these cars retrieved from the desert in pretty beat up shape just because the kids wanted to take it for a joy ride.
Regardless I am not sure what kind of theft deterrent I am going to put on it. The guy at the shop told me to go with a club that locks your brakes instead of the one that locks the wheel.
It's unfortunate that the theft is as bad as it is here...but like I said before atleast they weren't able to take it.
And to the guy who posted the pic of the a/c panel. Thank you lol, you didn't need to go through that much trouble. But I am just wondering if yours is different because it's a 89' and mine's a 96'.

no there the same they have had lights in every year. they burn out often and some people don't know how or are to lazy to replace the bulbs. my major pet peev is out lights so i replace them as soon as they go out. when you pull your panel just look behind there should be little light sockets with wires going to it. that's where the bulbs are. and i was no trouble to get the pics... jeeps just outside the front door

Keep in mind that if you use the club that locks your brake pedal the thieves can't see that, so you could still end up with a broken window. You want something that is obvious.
