Cherokee Aluminum Rims
Hey guys i have a lot of build up on my rims. Its a 95 so you could expect this but my question is can you spray paint over the aluminum. Ive seen people do it but not sure what to use. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Also this is only temporary because i am getting 30"ers in about 3 months once my friends sells them to me.

Go to the local auto parts store. They will have a nice selection of wheel paint that will give you a good look. You can save a few bucks with Rustolem silver, but it won't look as good.
Give the wheels a light wet sanding with 240 grit sandpaper to remove the oxidization and rough spots. Clean thourougly with paint thinner, tape off the tires and give em a spray.
You may find that after sanding them, they look good enough just to clear coat.

I did one set solid silver. The set I have are brushed Aluminum with black on the insets. Clear coated everything when done.

Just did the rims on my 98, two days ago. I wiped them down with an old towel, then scuffed them with scotchbrite pads for a few minutes.
Here's how they were;
Here's how they look now;
I used Rust-oleum "Hammered Finish" #7215 black.
