check gauges

The battery gauge drops to 9 and the check gauges light comes on what does this mean

Check your fuse for the gauges. My 84 did same thing, but my fuse was good, just not making contact. Wiggled it and it went away.

Mine did that after I ran off the road in a snow storm, its a 2000. I think it has something to do with the alt ground or something. still charges but does it every now and again.
