Check engine light wire colors- please
I have a question here in California about the check engine light. But what I have is I put a 92' Cherokee 4.0 with its original harness in my 81cj7.
Ive been to the reff and he said I have to have a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT to finish passing smog. I got a MIL light from "HESCO" here is the link. I cant figure out the COLOR wiring for the light.

The directions that came with the MIL light from HESCO say> connect the PURPLE wire on the light to the "check engine light "wire in the MPI harness and connect the YELLOW wire on the light to yellow wire (switched 12v)that is in the MPI harness
I think I found the yellow wire it shows 12v only for a second when actually starting engine. I also saw on a forum one guy said the black/pink wire spot# 32 on the comp wire diagram but not sure theres nothing that says in the book wire color for check engine light . Please help
