Default Check Engine Light on- Speedometer and Odometer not working

1999 Jeep Cherokee

Check Engine Light came on tonight and Speedometer stays at 0 MPH and Odometer display is not advancing. All other dash gauges are working (RPM's, oil, battery, gas) and all other interior/exterior electricals are working (power locks/windows, interior lights, headlights, A/C, Heat, radio, etc)

Any suggestions? Hopefully its not something major.

Thanks in advance

x2 on the vehicle speed sensor. I'm not a 100% sure, but I think, it throws an engine code (CEL).

you can also push on the corners of the housing, that usually seems to work

The vehicle speed sensor is either unplugged or bad, or the gear is worn. Crawl under there and take a look.

Could this also cause the other gauges to stop working too? i.e. temp, water and pertol? Mine are all dead and the air bag light has come on.
