Default Check engine light reset

So i have a 95 xj and i was getting codes for undercharging the battery which was a broken terminal. I replaced it so how reset it so the light goes out? On other cars with ob1 i just un hooked the battery. It is not working for my jeep, over night and the light is still on. So is there a way besides 50 turns of the key?

can be cleared with a scanner, can also clear by disconnecting the two battery cables and touching them together for 20 seconds, reconnect them and re-start the engine, which will need to do a idle relearn, transmission shift point relearn, etc....either way your choice, or just be patience and something else will come along and turn the light back on anyway.

So i pulled the cables and touched them together and it cleared code 47, but code 41 is still on. I think code 41 is altenator field switch, so what would this be?

With both terminals on the battery disconnected, turn the key and hold it to the start position for about 10 15 seconds. Worked on my 01, worth a try.

OBD2 code is stored in flash memory and requires the use of a scanner to overwrite.

OP
ya the alternator is probably trashed.
