Hi got a 97 xj 4.0 hi output. 98,000 on the clock.
Have suddenly had the check engine light flash on after fast acceleratin.
Doesn't happen all the time.
Doesn't stay on just flashes a bit.
Just seems to be when i put my foot down sometimes!!!
Sorry its a bit vague with not much to go on
Oil and pressure ok coolant ok.
Any ideas as to where to start would be great.

Thats a multiple cylinder miss fire.

Make sure you are putting enough fuel pressure thats where I would start.

Clean your injectors etc. Seems like it might be a fuel delivery issue.

 

Coil/coil pack/coil on plug problem.

It will get worse.
