Default Check Engine light 94 Cherokee Sport

I have a 94 Cherokee Sport,HO 4.0 straight six, runs like a champ, nothing wrong ive looked over everything and check engine light is still on. I have a small antifreeze leak near the bottom of the raditor left hand side, could that causing the light?

No, a coolant leak itself won't cause a check engine light.

Do the key trick and see what codes are reported.

you can get codes with key or scanner! either way without the code you can't fix it anyway.

Yes, but the point I was making is that the OP's rig is an OBD1 and the vast majority of parts houses only scan OBD2 equipped vehicles.

not to mention its much easier to turn the key fast five times than have to drive it somewhere for you to find out what it is.

check all of your connections first, if they are all connected, pull the negative battery cable off for 30 seconds and put it back on. start her up. if the check engine light does not come back in 30 sec then you are golden, otherwise i would go start your car, warm it up and then go smell your exhaust. if it smells like fuel then you have a bad o2 sensor

Anyway.....As mentioned simply turn the key on and off 3 times and then leave it on and count the "check engine" light flashes to get the stored trouble codes..if the battery has been disconnected not long ago it should start with code 12 and end with code 55..Everything in between is something it is finding a problem with.
