check engine light

Default check engine light
my check engine light is on because of the cooling fan relay, but i bought a new one and the check light is still on after reseting with computer, what gives?

Did you check the diagnostic codes after you replaced the relay?

yeah it still came up the same even after the new relay, i toggle switched the fan for now but i need to smog it.

What was the code? The light may be indicating a general circuit trouble rather than a specific part.

the code reads p1491 radiator fan relay control circuit. The cat and 02s icons are flashing, any more help?

yeah its the one in the box not under the frame rail, but im going to try the fuse in the #10 spot that says not used
