check engine light

Default check engine light

so i think i flooded my engine listening to the stereo turned the key to on. my amp was not coming on so trying to solve that i cycled the key some more tryed to start it battery was dead threw the charger on it. let it charge a little bit tryed to start it no good let it charge a little more started died, started was running ok then i seen the check engine light on. shut it off looked under the hood smelled gas looked to make sure there is no leak's, theres no leaks took the air intake hose off smelled real strong of gas, flooded. so my question is would the check engine light come on because i flooded the engine.

might or because of dead battery? key on key off method searh it check the code

Yes, rotory engines are notorious for flooding. Even the RX-8's are prone to flooding. To the OP, punctuation please, reading that made my head hurt.

Rotary engines are just a bad design from the beginning IMO. the rx8 engines flood everytime you start them and shut them off before the engine warms up. The seals on the rotors don't seal when there's any residual fuel in the cylinder. If anyone here owns one its a simple fix when you do accidentally flood your rx8.
