Check engine light
Recently my check engine light came on and my battery gauge was really low and now my battery is completely dead... I haven't got a new battery yet so not sure if the light went off but could this be the cause of the light being on? Help needed fast!

First, always post year and engine. There are significant differences through the years.
You may have a battery problem OR you may have a charging system problem. Don't assume it is the battery.
First thing I always do for a situation like this is to verify output of the charging system. If you have a voltmeter gauge on your dash, what does it read when the engine is running? Better yet, get a multi meter (buy one; they're $10) and put one lead on each of the battery posts. A healthy charging system and battery should get you into the 13.5 to 14.0 volt range.
Most parts stores will test your battery and charging system for you in the hopes of selling you any needed new parts.
