Will my 2001 xj 4.0L run if i remove the cheak engine light bulb?

 

Yes it will but,I reccomend takeing it to Auto Zone and have them scan it to find out whats wrong.They don't come on for fun,if its on then it's for a reason.

 

Why take the bulb out? Its not gonna get rid of the problem.

Why would they ban you? and the first thing i do when i look at buying a car is test drive it to the auto parts store and hook it up to make sure there arnt any trouble codes. The light can be easily turned off by resetting the battery and it can take up to 150 miles for the computer to reset and the light to come back on. So thats why i always hook it up before i even think about buying.

 

I've seen cars at the dealership that they disabled the check engine light in order to sell it. This is pretty common. Hell, my XJ didn't come with a Check Engine light bulb. Someone must have not ordered that option year ago lol.

Rumor has it that if you disconnect that light, your Jeep will collapse in on it's self. It's kinda the Mopar version of dividing by zero.







In short, Yes your Jeep will run.

 

But your wheels will fall off

 

shhhhhhh......it's been a secret....."The Bulb" is the brain of the truck!.....When it lights up, it has an idea, and you better listen!......If you remove "The Bulb"....then the truck will start acting like....YOU....all ?#!@#$%^ .......why don't you 'fix' the problem?
