Ok. I have a 93 cherokee sport 4.0 4wd aw4 and all the usual suspects. Anyhow my charging gauge has been reading just over 12 volts. I replaced the alternator because it was charging a little sub par but not completely dead. Well the new one charges at 13.8 to 14v AWESOME! however, the guage still never reads over about 12.5v even through my DVOM says otherwise. Anyone had this issue before? Thanks!

 

Probably just some resistance in the wire for the gauge, I wouldn't even worry about it. Just learn where the new 14v mark is and watch for that.
