Charging issue?
So took the jeep through a mud hole by accident. Didn't know it was that deep of ruts. And the alt was fine afterward. Later that night I heard a few gun shots and hoped in the jeep to take a look around my property notice the lights were dim! And the gauge was at barley 10 v In the red. Took it to work was charging at between 10 and 13.7 v at times. After work it would only crank and crank and sputter after about 5 mins it started. Took it into my shop and cleaned the ground cable from the battery to engine and cleaned the contacts to the connector on the alt and the charge wire and checked to make sure the fuse able link got the vat40 out was at 13.6 v with maybe 6 amps out f the alt. same charging as in the morning on my way home. Am I missing something i did not check before I condem the alt ?
