Ok. Will do I still have to put the new ground straps on but I cleaned all my current grounds. Which were not dirty at all. But I wired brushed them and got them nice and shiny. And put them
Back on. I might charge the Batt is none of this works and drive I to the parts store that way they can test it and the batt at the same time.. Like u said I could have got a bad reman. I'll replace these grounds charge the batt and post back what my results are thanks alot for the help

Take it back and have them bench test it. They probably sold you a reconditioned alt. They should have no problem checking it and replacing it if necessary. If that alternator is functioning properly, it should be pushing out 14v+...mine operates at 15 (or just a hair under).

Ok all grounds are clean and I replaced the woven wire strap on the back of the head. With a 4gauge wire and o also ran another 4ga ground strap from the batt to the core support. Plus cleaned all existing grounds. Charged the batt. So it's about 12.6 I rechecked the voltages from the PCM that excites the alt. And it is at 12.6v but the alt is still not putting out I'm only reading batt voltage at the alt. So I guess I'll have the alt checked... But if it checks good what else could it be???

If you aren't getting a reading any higher than the battery voltage at the alt contact, with the alt under load, I can guarantee its a faulty alternator. It can't be anything else if you test it at the alt.

That is kinda my thought. I don't really know what else it could be today I'm gonna try and drive the jeep up to the auto parts store and have the new one tested and also bring the old one and have it bench tested and hopfully they both test bad.

Well get this crap... I put my jeep on the charger early this morning on a 10amp charge for about 8 hrs. to make sure i had enuf juice to make it to and from the parts store. Well I drove it up there and it was reading pretty high voltage around 14 or so but i figured it was b/c of charging it so long. They tested to old one and it was bad then tested the new one on my jeep and it tested good 14.4 volts and 34 amps at idle. I guess it just needed a good charge guy at the parts store said it was cuz of the yellow top deep cycle batt. But I have never heard of that... But I suppose it's fixed??? I have driven it long distance to find out but I assume it's working! Thanks for all the and info ev1 provided!
