i have a new alternator and all and my jeep still isnt chargein its a 88 xj 4.0 wat else could it be

Check out the battery cables. Start at the battery and inspect them both all the way through to the other ends looking for crack, burns, melted insulation, grimey connections.

hook it up to the old vat45 and run some tests

ive already put all new 4ga wires on it all i have left is the alternator one wat is a vat 45

depending on the garage i think most should have them.. my shop has a couple of them

yea mine test if the batt can hold a charge and when u start the truck it shows if its chargein but thats all it like a volt meter

well with the one we have it can test alot of different things it has a little screen with a menu and stuff to do various tests

its holding a charge but it just stays at 12 volts maybe a little over when it runin do u kno which relay is the one for the system
