changing trans fluid, filter
I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport with auto trans. Just got it and new to jeeps. Love great for hunting. I went to change the trans fluid and filter and found the dipstick tube goes into the side of the pan. Does this pop out to lower the pan, or do I have to take a bracket of the block or somewhere? Thanks

I suggest lifting the Jeep on jack stands and removing the bolts intead of the tube connecting the pan.( I don't trust that seal). By lifting it you can drop the pan without clearence issues and get it out from under the truck to clean the pan and magnets.

The dipstick tube is 2 piece and the lower half should separate from the upper half. Unfortunately, the joint can get stuck really tight, making a pan drop tough. We used a small tubing cutter and a short piece of 1/2" fuel line to solve the problem now and for future pan drops.
