Default Changing instrument clusters ????

I read somewhere that with 97 to 01 xj's that you can change from idiot lights to gauge cluster and no senor change involved, is that true. Thanks

Yea that true. But mileage will be different as the mileage in the cluster will stay the same from your donor vehicle. And it may throw a code for a incorrect vin. On older ones you had to swap out pressure and temp sensors for ones with gauges vs lights.

I just had I to replace my oil pressure switch, during my search I read that this switch is different between the idiot light and gauge. I forget what exactly was different, but there was a difference from what I read. I will try and find that info and put it on here, hope this helps!
