P0700 - Trans Control SYS malfunction

P0705 - Trans Range sensor circuit malfuntion

I had a previous thread related to this about the NSS because all the research i did pointed to the NSS and that it most likely needed to be cleaned. I cleaned it today and now my reverse lights work every time, Wuwho. But the CEL will not stop coming on.

I tried something to reset my CE light that i remembered from my old toyota. Turn the key to the on position without the engine running and press the gas pedal 3-5 times. This turned off my CE light. Then i would crank it to make sure it wouldnt come back on and about 5-10 seconds after cranking it, the CE light would pop again. It almost seems like i have a bad wire or short or something. Has anyone ever dealt with this. I have a multimeter but not very fluent with it.

My transmission shifts fine and smooth and fluid is good.

I hate this CE light. Sometimes i think its the brightest light in the world. I can't stop looking at it, lol.

Oh, is there any kind of fuse in this system?

Two questions:

How did you adjust the transmission range switch?

Do you have a scanner to reset the SES lamp?

I torque it down to the previous setting and made sure the reverse lights worked. and no i do not have a scanner to delete the code. I disco'd the battery for about an hour and it came back on within the 5-10 seconds after start up. Now heres whats weird and i think the jeep is possesed, I drove it to the store last night to get some gas and when i cranked up to leave, No CE light. and i still dont have one this morning after driving it 20 miles. Not real sure whats going on
