Well the code cleared itself. When my gf took the jeep to work shortly after I made the post, she got in started it up and there was no code. I guess it was some random event.

 

Check them anyway. You might have something stored. They will delete after 50 engine start cycles, unless they reoccur.

 

I just tried the on/off 3 times trick, and the push trip button then key on and am getting nothing.
The button/key on the dash will count down from 999999 to 888888, 777777, etc all the way to 111111 then goes to normal looking dash - the gauges move around with each countdown number and the dash lights sequence to different numbers as it counts down, but no real code shows on the mileage
