Default CCV Hose- can I use rubber instead of oem plastic?

So I was replacing my valve cover gasket today and in the process of pulling the CCV valve off, I broke the plastic hose. I noticed the oem hose was made of plastic, but was wondering can I just cut some rubber hose and run it from ccv to where it goes into throttle body?

Thanks for input!

yea. i did the same thing. it seemed to hold up nicely till i could afford a whole assembly from the dealer. i clamped it with a small hose clamp. didnt want any vacuum leaks.
