Default CCV ?

I just bought a 94' XJ 4.0 The ccv valves were broke both lines had been substituted with soft rubber hose. Both of which have greatly failed. Ordered new lines and valves but both are the same pcv I assume. What was left of the old ones show them to be different, The one to air breather being basically an open elbow and the one to the breather being like I ordered with a small orifice. So I assume I need to find the correct air breather to valve cover valve. Is this correct and if so where and how do I find it? Part store only list pcv morris 4x4 list ccv but both are the same with small orifice.

Thanks Hugh

if it's the same thing I had to replace, you'll have a hard time finding it, or you'll end up overpaying at the dealer. you could always go check, but my '96 breather hose was 96$ at the dealer, so I made my own with rubber fuel line : https://i.imgur.com/uXis93B.jpg been 15k km and still working fine.

You'd be better off going at the junk yard and finding one from there. be careful when removing it though, that's when most people break the plastic part.

Here's the 94-96 CCV parts breakdown.

Rockauto lists the 53030497 fitting. Look at the selections. You may be able to go to O'reilly Auto Parts and get one.

The OP needs a fitting for the 4.0 engine. That would be part number 5303 0991.

Thanks guys! I made the fix I just drilled the extra PCV valve orifice out to the pipe dia. looks just like the broken one I replaced. Thanks for the diagram CCKen could come in handy in the future.

nice trick! I like it, although where I'm from they sell the PCV valves over the counter i.e. you don't even have to ask for it it's got an isle! thats what I meant by easy to find.

Unless knowledge: the PCV valve was the first type of emissions control!!

On my '95 I had to replace one so I did both. I don't remember where I got them but the Dorman part #'s are PCV #47057, CCV #47079.

Sorry guys my original post may have been a little confusing and long winded. The hoses I was able to get no problem, the PCV correct is simple to find, yes it is or should be on the shelf. The other valve that goes to the air breather however is not a restricted orifice this I had trouble finding. With a little thought on my part and a drill bit the extra pcv valve was simple to drill out and looks no different than the original part other than it is not broken. Thanks cliffy part # more future useful information. Holy-ba-jeepers long winded again sorry.

That's the part number for a 1996 XJ fitting. The OP has a 1994 XJ.
