I didn't pull it out to install the radio. I cut it with a utility knife and then drilled the support. With my dome light out I just put my hand in that hole and attached the nuts.

If i were you i would go to walmart or radio shack,they usually have pretty decent 40 channel CB's and they work but in the long run you get what you pay for,nothing beats a cobra or something a little higher price if you can get a few extra miles out of it,especially if you dont have your ham lisence(dont know if i spelled that right)
