CB install question
I got a CB and now I need to know how to install it. I'm also not to sure where I want to mount it (there's not much room for it in and around the dash area) Can anyone help?

Not a CB, but with my HAM Radio, I mounted it in between the sun visors. I got a piece of aluminum and cut it to length, then used the visor mounts and drilled holes in the aluminum, and then screwed it up there. Mounted the HAM bracket to the aluminum, and then attached my radio.
I ran my wires above in my headliner, down the A pillar, and into the engine bay.

Overhead (between visors) is a good spot, especially if you have a smaller sized CB.
Here's a visual:
I know... Its a Radio Shack...but hey, the price was VERY decent.
I used some 3" x 1/8" x 12" stainless. Had some sitting.
I drilled and countersunk for flat-head screws then mounted the plate directly to the roof. This is personal preference, I wanted a strong mounting.
I then offset new tapped holes for the sun visor clips. I positioned them so they cover-up the flat-head screws. (Just had to trim the pins off the bottom so they sit flat.)
I didn't care for the mic cable in the middle of my rear-view so I zip-tied it to the passenger's side .

You can either wire it to come on when you turn the key or stay on all the time.
I have mine wired with a relay so that it is still powered directly from the battery but is only on when ignition is on.
I have mine mounted between my seat on a home made cup holder, but I do not have the center console. I am assuming you do so that would not work for you.
Most common mounting is on the passenger side of the transmission hump, between the visors, or under the dash on the driver's side.
Antennas are typically mounted either to a roof rack if equipped, mag mount on the roof, or to a mount by the driver's tail light.
I have included pics of my set up. And yes I have the earlier version of the Radio Shack CB posted above. Currently a Cobra 19 Ultra resides in that spot.
