Standard hood bracket...under-used location, these days. I got the mount from a local radio shop. It is not XJ-specific or anything, just a generic hood mount.
I do not have the antenna attached right now, and this was the best pic on my computer that it happened to be in.

Good point! did anybody integrate their CB into their dash? Maybe underneath the three switches in the middle of the dash? Or possibly above the radio in the heater vent?

 

I thought about putting mine into the center vent but decided it was easier to mount it above the rear view. I wasnt sure I would like it there but I do. The speaker is pointing down and its just above my ear level so its easy to hear over the lack of exhaust that I have. I made a mount and took the keyless entry globe off and used self tappers to hold it in. Ran the power to the power for the keyless entry.

I have my mine mounted on the roof rack and the cb on the back of the arm rest.

 

Thats exactly where I want to mount mine, same size radio also PC68XL. Did you jsut screw the mount into the armrest?

 

Ya I just used the bracket that came with the radio. I had to take out the little worthless trashbin thats on the back of the armrest but thats no biggy.

 

Yeah i dont have the factory bracket but I think im gonna make up one that i can hold it there without drilling into the armrest, something to slip under and hold it in place possibly.

is it for the roof rack? i have a 9 foot metal whip so the little mounts wont fit in the little mounts. what type of cb and how much?

 

i have a magnetic antenna too, its great since its on the roof so i get max reception, but it also sucks since i take it through alot of tight spots so i always gotta tip it back up after i duck under a tree, but it beats the hell outta breakin it off haha. ive heard good things about all the wilson line whips, thats next on my list.
