Hey folks,
Newbie here but have had my 96 Country for 12 years and its needs some attention.
I need to replace catalytic converter and want to know if it is as straight forward as it looks or are there some gotchas to watch out for. It's a direct fit on this 4.0L, 6 cylinder model.
Also, any idea if this will help a power loss/lagging problem when engine is cold (first 1/4 mile after starting)?
Thanks in advance for your help.

It is easy to replace just make sure you do not cut it out where you have enough pipe left to work with. A clogged cat can cause this problem,if you remove it and it appears there is alot of the brick inside missing,it is very possible it could be in your muffler causing a restriction there also. Just inspect everything well.

Be careful about how to talk about cats on this forum...Moderators are strict on it. I found out the hard way
! But back to subject...I'd try looking for a STREET LEGAL highflow from Magnaflow. Some welding may be needed, or you can buy direct fit. Check out carpartswhole.com or Quadratec.com for some. Carpartswhole.com usually has the cheapest prices on all parts.
