Default catalytic converter questions

hey guys quick questions I'm ordering a replacement cat converter for my 97 jeep Cherokee sport. I'm trying to figure out what size I need, I measured the front and it measured at 2.5 inches but the back is 2.25. Could anyone tell me which size I need to order?

Any advice on the install would be appreciated too! Thanks

You should need a 2.25 in/out. Should.

Mudfrog, a supporting vendor here, sells high flow cats for a great price. Look him up and I bet you'll get taken care of.

Yes, I believe that's the website I'm currently on, I haven't seen any options for a cat that's 2.5/2.25 perhaps I should send him an email?

Our '98 is 2.5" in/2.25" out.

Do you have a tape measure?? If so USE it. Unless of course you KNOW that your exhaust is now stock.

I bought a magnaflow direct fit......i know one end was bigger than the other....i wanna say 2.5/2.25 sound right...the 2.5 slides over the downpipe and the 2.25 slides inside the muffler
