Catalytic Converter Question
I need to replace the Cat on my XJ that I punctured while out four-wheeling. I have two questions:
1 - I moved from California to Wisconsin. Vehicle is now licensed and registered in Wisconsin. Do I have to replace the Cat with a CA approved Cat even though I am no longer living or registered in CA, or can I go with a 49 state legal Cat?
2 - Do they make a 2.5" in/out lets for Cats? I cant seem to find an option for choosing the diameter of the in/outlets. The ones I found on summit racing for my make and model are 2.25" slip fit. 1/4 inch isn't going to make a big deal but it would be nice if I had the option for 2.5" all the way through.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Use any cat that you want that meets application. Much like the safe and sane fireworks, with the fire marshall stamp, all you are paying for is the stamp that says CA legal in CA.

and i was under the impression that removing the smog pump would cause the cat to plug sooner than it normally would. Is this not true?
