catalytic converter question

i wanna put a high flow cat on but i dont know what diameter my piping is. other than tearing off the old one and measuring, is there a way to find out what my 98 xj sport has?

Could be 2 1/2 in and 2 1/4 out.

Somewhere near 98 they were changed to two different sizes.

However you really dont need to tear it off to measure it.
