So i have to get a new cat converter on my truck along with a muffler. Muffler im going the cheep way and doing a cherry bomb glasspack. I know nothing about cat converters though. Should i get a pricey one or does it really not matter i can grab a eighty dollar one? Brands? Anything else i missed please chime in.

anything goes...but you get what you pay for!....there are good quality cats ~$100 and bad ones ~$50....just depends how many times you wanna change it....a good cat can outlast the vehicle, if all is well maintained.
These folks are down in Houston,TX... Converter Warehouse.... http://www.converterwarehouse.com/ca...Model=CHEROKEE
another option, depending on how you use the vehicle and the local laws...you can put in a straight pipe from the new good quality cat back....it will produce a nice tone and yet be muffled enough by the cat and pass emissions!....worst case, you can add the glasspack on later....

I recently replaced my original catalytic converter (226,000+ miles) that the insides had come loose and started rattling. I was concerned about the replacement brand since I wanted the least expense possible and no check engine light. I chose a direct-fit Magnaflow, and it has served me well over the last two weeks and 500 miles.
