Default Cat back question

I am very sorry for wasting forum space but i originally posted this in the wrong section and am unsure how to delete it from that section.........

In need of opinions.......

I live in England and over here we have a place called quick fit (dont know if you guys have it too), but when your exhaust blows or cracks or fails in any way, you go to quick fit and they will have it in stock, it will be very cheap and have a good garauntee.

So when I got my jeep a few years back it needed a new cat and cat back, and this is where I had it done, since then it has wrecked three silencers in three years, I later found out that quick fit use a standard oval can and weld different fittings for different cars onto it, there are not many 4 litre petrol engined cars here in the u.k which explains what is happening, my silencer was probably designed with the average 1.4 in mind and gets blown to bits.

So I have decided to get a proper long lasting nice sounding high performance cat back and want your opinion, all the usual BORLA, FLOWMASTER, HOOKER etc is not available here and will have to be shipped which costs a fortune, so if I have to do that I want to be sure of a good product, but we do have one company called JANSPEED that have a good name for themselves, they have been in the tuning game for years and used to make parts for the production race winnjingf mini coopers and jaguar e-types in the sixties, has anybody got any experience or knowledge of a janspeed on an XJ? or do I stick with the far more expensive Import from the states option, thanks for your time and any help.

Terry,

I have 2.5" pipe and a Flowmaster 40 muffler. I love it. I've heard guys who swear by Magnaflow systems, also. If I was you, I'd go with Janspeed, your local Speed shop. Give them a try and save yourself some cash in shipping. Since they are a Hi Performance well known shop, I'd ask if they offer a warranty for their mufflers. That will save you a few dollars, too, if their muffler blows out on your Jeep. If you don't mind the shipping cost then I say FLOWMASTER all the way.

Default THANKS GUYS

I recently read a review about Janspeed where a guy who owns a Lotus ordered a cat back system and had to wait a week for it to be made as they are all individually tailored as per order (which I dont mind waiting) but then when he recieved it it did not fit, so he returned it and they sent him a new altered exhaust at no extra cost so they sound like a good bunch, I have found plenty of sound files of other cars with janspeeds and they sound pretty mean compared to stock.
I think I read it has a lifetime warranty,.

thebrow89...When you say you hate kits do you mean you would rather make your own out of individual components? I do this with motorcycles, but I would be interested in the systems you have made and what the best design and components are in your opinion.

what about a sports free flow cat while I am at it, whats your opinion on these?
