Default Carrier question

I found a old carrier in my shed for a dana 30. Wich I belive came off my old cj. How do I tell if it's for 3.73's and higher or 3.55 and numerically lower? I see there is some type of casting number on the side, or would I have to Mic it? Any help would be great, thanks.

count the teeth on the ring gear, and count the teeth on the pinion gear.

Divide ring gear count by pinion count....

So say the ring gear has 40 teeth, and the pinion has 10, your ratio is gonna be 4.00
because 40/10=4...HTH!

It's just a bear carrier, there is no ring gear or pinion.
