Default carrier bearing sucks....

I'm trying to replace my axle seals on my Dana 30, I had it down to the carrier 6 hours ago. Still won't come out. I tried jamming rags under the ring and spinning, putting a wrench on one of the crown bolts, rotating up and prying. It comes out about 1/4 of the way, then won't move any more. Have any of you guys dealt with this, or know any other tricks?? I'm about to find the nearest wall and.......

As long as the axles are out & the caps are off, just pry that sucker loose (it's a negative fit). When it pops don't misplace any of the shims and keep them oriented side to side.

You pulled the joints out and it won't come out? What year is it? The ones with shift forks have pins that you have to find and remove before you take it out. Rotate your drive shaft and the pin is along it

In the older ones they have pins/ clips that you have to remove before you pull the joints from the shaft. If your axel has the space for the vacuum along the passage side of the shaft your gunu have fun.

She is saying the passenger side has an inner & outer axle shaft, the inner shaft is removed isn't it? If not it's not coming apart.

yup that sound about right it also matters on the tcase too 242 non disco axle 231 disco. Take off the shift fork housing on the pass side once you see it remember how it goes unless you want to it to be locked like the non-disco axle, there is a c clip on the gear, remove it and your shaft will slide out and out will come the carrier

When I did mine I clean inside the tube brake cleaner and put a rag and kept pushing it out till it was decent clean sprayed the diff and blew it with the air and it was good pressed the seals in, lubed the seals, and installled everything back leaving the tierod off, fill and lower and check again fluid level and call it even
