my 99 jeep cherokee will not start but will crank. already replaced distributor cap and rotor. thinkin its engine ignition coil? any help?

 

It might be the crank shaft position sensor. My 98 would crank and not start. I tried a couple of things before i realized it was the sensor. Jeeps are notorious for this and i'm pretty sure it might be your problem. I just changed mine today and it started right up first try. Its a pain to change but if your used to workin on vehicles than its not to bad. I had to drop the tranny to get my hands up on the bell housing to get the cps bolts. It took me about an hour to do because the bolts werent budging. I hope this helps and good luck.
