Hi, Ive been having this problem I dont remember exactly when it started happening but if I have the car on and open the driver door the car turns off, or if I have the door open and try to turn the car on it struggles to turn on and then shuts off. It doesnt happen with the passenger door just the driver door. Any one have any suggestions or idea of why that is happening?

wires in the door sock must be cracked and shorting something else...look there for the issue, or climb in through the window and call it a day

Ill take a look this weekend there, but yeah its not a problem since I close the door when I turn the car on and what not but just shouldnt be doing that and I want to fix it.

The driver side door jam switch (the small push button type switch that detects when the door is ajar) shares a wire connection with the ignition switch and the headlamp switch (18 gauge Black/LightBlue wire if the 96 FSM is accurate...which it may not be) . The door jam switch and ignition switch would be the first two suspects. For example testing the ignition switch circuits for proper function while also activating the door jam switch to see if the ignition circuits change (which could tell the computer that the ignition is no longer in either the run or start position and turn the car off, for example).
