Default Cap and Rotor Options

I plan to do the cap and rotor. Is there anyone better than the other? O'Rielys has two differnt styles for caps and rotors for my car and Autozone has one and they have their value craft and better one.

I have car parts local here and Napa..

Any hints like place a bead of dieletric grease alsong the base to reduce possible water intake...

You need the number off of the distributor in order to get the correct cap and rotor, there is two different styles depending on the distributor number. A mid grade part will do you right, skip the expensive cap and the cheap cap. Don't worry about any dielectric grease on the cap, the only place to use the grease is on the spark plug boots so they slide on easier and can be pulled off without destroying the boots. Keep the inside of the cap DRY. Have you done the plugs and wires yet? Might as well do them too.

yea the cap and rotor should be like 8-10 bucks together, cause when you slop some mud on one or moisture gets up inside one you should not feel bad about chucking it and getting a new one. i replaced mine 3 times in 2 years cause off offroading incidents.

Where will I locate the number or will it be obvious when I pop the hood? My Ride is a 1995. Why would then Autozone only have one option, well O'Riely's has two?

There is a tag on the distributor body. The one from Autozone may fit, but it may not fit perfectly.
