Can't rotate crank by hand after replacing Flex plate
1998 4.0, Replaced a cracked flex plate. New flex plate was the same as the old one. Positive that I reinstalled everything correctly. Can't turn crank to put in the 4 flex plate to torque converter bolts. Used a lot of force on the front of the crank with a breaker bar. Tried in both directions. Can't turn the flex plate by pushing on the teeth. Can't get the torque converter to spin by reaching behind the flex plate with a screwdriver and pushing on it. Only thing that I can think of is that maybe the torque converter fell forward a little bit before reinstalling the Tranny. Only pulled the Tranny back about 6 or 7 inches to replace the flex plate though. Did have to wiggle it a lot to get it realigned to engine. Any ideas before I go ahead and drop the Transmission again???

If there isn't an air gap between the torque converter and flex plate mounting holes then your definitely on the right track with suspecting the torque converter isn't seated all the way
