Default Noise from the tranny. Suspect Flex plate

Ok, so i am pretty sure my flex plate is either cracked or loose. I can hear the noise from the tranny and backside of the engine when it idles and it goes away when i rev up the engine.

I tried to search and could not find any pictures of where the inspection plate is located. And how to tighten the bolts on the flexplate. I dont know if it maters but i have Slec-trac transmission.

Thanks.

Check your torque convertor nuts first.

Found a few pictures online I guess i was looking at the right thing. The flex plate is just another name for flywheel, right? And as i understand the tranny would have to come out to do the job, right?

sounds like the flexplate is cracked there should be a couple of bolts holding the insp plate on . it pretty much coers the bottom of the bell housing . you cant tighten them witout pulling the trans the only thing you can tighten is the torque converter bolts

do you have picture of it. I have no idea where to look. I am not much of an automatic tranny guy. This is my first car with auto transmission.

how hard is it too pull the tranny on an XJ? I have access to a lift.
