cant put my jeep in second gear

Default cant put my jeep in second gear

having problems with second gear i go to shift into it and it just grinds bad. but sometime it goes in. but have no clue what would make this happen. omeone help me out

its a bad synchronizer.

I just finished swapping out my ax15, the 1st and 4th synchros went out

I still drove it though, just had to double clutch and match the engine speed

yeah man mine are on there way out too. it grinds most of the time going into second. somethings i do to help are to rev out first a little more and try to shift fast as the rpms are falling, or double clutching and giving the throttle a quick rev before you go to put it in second.

Just wind 1st out and shift right to 3rd.

i do wind 1st out and shift right to 3rd but its starting to get annoying. but im capiable of doing the synchronizer but its just a pain and i really dont want to lol

by chance did you put a tc drop in lately also is your tranny mount shot,other possibilties

yeah i did the tc drop when i did my lift a year ago. and i havent look at my tranny mount

mine did this when my mount went bad the shifter was hitting the floor board remove boots and see when you pull it back into second if its not hitting floor board i bent my shifter a little forward cured the issue,also replaced the mount. you could even trim the floor board some to prob

if the shifter is hitting the floor board it self you are never going to be able to engage the gears thus grinding will happen it was the problem with mine all ways try the easy fix first
