Default Can't get new lug studs to pull all of tge way through?

Trying to finish up a disc swap on my 99 xj. Using new 99 lug studs from a d30 front and cannot get them to come all the way through?

In the pics you can see I am using washer, big nut, washer, nut. I am afraid of damaging the new studs and having to start over again with new lug studs.

As you can see it us tearing up the washers to the point I almost have to pry them off.

Wondering if I need to go ahead and buy the real tool from Amazon for $20?

Dana 30 studs are different taper from the rear I believe. Studs from a ZJ rear will work and are a bit longer.

I used a press but you can also use a BFH or an air hammer with a blunt bit.

I have a feeling you have the wrong studs. They should pull in the way you're doing it. Look at the RockAuto site. Different size knurls.

Well that sucks. Guess I will have to start looking for different suds tomorrow.

Wonder if I damaged my axles with these?

Thanks for the info.

I doubt it damaged the axles. The studs are softer than the axle. Just use ZJ rear studs. That's what I'm running.

So this is what Rock Auto is showing me?

99 XJ rear - 1/2-20 Serrated Wheel Stud; .618 In. Knurl; 1-15/32 In. Length

98 Grand - 1/2-20 Serrated Wheel Stud; .621 In. Knurl; 1-5/8 In. Length

Still not the knurl I need?

If you would actually use google, a lot of guys run ZJ studs, it's what 99% of guys use when swapping to disk brakes.

This post could not have been timed better. I just ordered my set of lug but studs this morning. Unfortunately it looks like I ordered the wrong ones. I also got the Dana 30 studs.
