Question Can you mount small tires on front end of Cherokee?

I might mount some P195/65/ R15 on the front end. These might be too small because they are 65 not 75. The max load on these are 580 KG 1270 LBS.

The stock tires in the back are P215/75/R15. I don't use 4wd, the shafts were removed.

As long as you don't run your 4wd you'd be fine.

Since u don't have the front shafts, the real question is.....why would u think a little smaller tire on the front would not work?

Yeah! "LOW RIDER MAN" little ones on the front and then you could put some "Really Big Tires on the back like a 33.12:50x15's for a really nice raked look.

The OP may be on a tight budget AND has access to a couple of cheap/free 195/65/15 tires.....he hasn't explained his reasoning, therefore we why. The OP's ? was "can u mount small tires", not "how will small tires look".....and the answer to his ? is, they will work fine. He may not "want to", but if they r free.......

Yes they are free tires with good tread. I wanted to use them for several months, until I can get a matching set. The question is will these smaller tires hold up to the weight on the front end.

Sure they will.....look at the weight rating on the tire's side wall. The XJ weighs about 3000 lbs with about 55% of the weight in the front half. That number divided by 2 is about the weight on each front tire.
