Default can you help me plz

i just bought a jeep cherokee 4.0 5 speed manual with the straight 6 got it for 550 bucks i took it home put in a new power steering pump new plugs wires and belt i took it for a test drive and everything was fine than put it in 4 hi and it drove like 10 feet than made a grinding\clicking noise im not sure what it is but i was thinking that the front end does sag down like 6 inches to a foot i think from bad springs but i do not know much at all about cars if you could give me some info that would be great thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum. First I will say some photos would definitely help as far as the sagging question. As far as the noises..When you say it drove like 10 feet do you mean after the noise it no longer drives at all?..Or does it still drive but now just sags down in the front a lot?

Whenyou tried 4HI were you driving on DIRT? If not you may have bound-up and broken the transfere case and possibly the axles. 4Hi is for driving on Loose surfaces ONLY.

Perhaps. Not sure if it would have happened within 10 feet though. A more likely thing would be the XJ he got hasnt been used in 4x4 in forever and something was ungreased or froze..Maybe even the transfer case empty of fluid?
