Hello All,

I have a 99 jeep cherokee sport 4.0 Auto, 4x4.
I did a radio swap yesterday... Right after I put in new stereo, my CEL came on..
I can't see this being related to the radio swap, but I am wondering..

On the stock radio, There are seven pin connectors.. There are 2 of them, One is the feed connection and the other is the speaker connection.. Well on the feed connection there is a wire that is labeled Park, Can someone tell me what this is for..

I am gonna have codes read today, Just trying to see if this is related with my radio swap...

what kind of radio did you install. is the "park" wire on the aftermarket side? if so some radios that have DVD/TV playback only allow it do so when the vehicle is in park or with the hand brake engaged and that would be the signal wire it uses. even if you do not have video playback it's possible the manufacture uses the harness for other applications. i would check fuses in regards to your CEL or there are grounds that may have been disturbed or a communication BUS interrupted that may be causing your CEL to eliminate. let us know what the fault is and we can go from there.

Just a basic stereo with Ipod input, Thats all.. No video or anything of the sort.. Ill check fuses in a little bit.. I realy can't see this being related to to my CEL coming on.. But sometimes the timing that crap happens makes ya wonder.. Hehe!!!

Hello Again Guys

Got codes read at local parts store, Code that was there was PO138, Havnt looked to see what it is yet, I need to hunt me book down, They cleared code and CEL didnt come back on, I am thinking maybe I tripped something to cause the CEL to come on... Ill have to look and see what that code is..
